Dennis and I had been talking about doing "Little Drummer Boy" for several years now, and it finally happened in 2017! All I knew is that it was generally going to be on the heavier side, and that as the featured drummer he'd have free range to do whatever he wanted. I sent him a sketch of the song, and indicated "solo: here, and here." Within a day, he sent me drum tracks of him playing along plus an awesome solo section(s). From there, I asked him for 3 more solos, which I then edited all together to create this really neat solo section with panned drums stacked on top of each other. I highly recommend listening with headphones to get the full effect! Also, a big thanks to my brother-in-law Kyle Dunlop for gifting me a melodica last year. It finally got featured!
